Last updated 2026-03-28

This guide takes you from zero to your first flight in the Aerolync Pilot App. Follow these steps in order.

Step 1 — Get the app

Get it on Google Play Download on the App Store

Step 2 — Create your account

Your organisation's administrator will send you an invitation email.

  1. Open the invitation link in the email
  2. Fill in your name and set a password
  3. Complete the onboarding steps
  4. The app opens and you are signed in

If you already have an account, simply sign in with your email and password. See Account access for details on sign-in methods including QR code authentication.

Step 3 — Set up your profile

A complete profile ensures you can book aircraft, log flights, and receive invoices correctly.

  1. Go to Profile in the bottom navigation
  2. Open Personal data and fill in your contact details, address, and emergency contact
  3. Open Licences and add your pilot licence with validity dates and reference numbers
  4. Upload a profile photo so your organisation can identify you

Important

Some organisations require a valid licence and active subscription before you can book or fly. Complete your profile as soon as possible.

See Profile for detailed instructions on each section.

Step 4 — Set your home base

  1. Go to the Home screen
  2. Tap Home Base
  3. Select the airfield you primarily operate from
  4. The Home screen will now show this airfield's status by default

Step 5 — Make your first booking

  1. Go to Schedule in the navigation
  2. Navigate to the date you want to fly
  3. Select the correct schedule group if your organisation uses groups
  4. Find an available slot on the aircraft you want
  5. Tap the slot and complete the booking form
  6. Save the booking

Tip

Check both aircraft and flight instructor availability if you are booking a training flight.

See Schedule for all booking features.

Step 6 — Log your first flight

Before departure

  1. Go to the Home screen
  2. Check the airfield status — make sure it shows Open
  3. Tap Start flight

  1. Choose the route type: LOCAL (returning here) or NAV (going elsewhere)
  2. Enter the destination if NAV
  3. Fill in flight details: departure time, persons on board, PIC, flight type
  4. Select your aircraft
  5. Enter the departure Hobbs reading if prompted
  6. Review everything and tap Register departure

After landing

  2. Tap Close flight
  3. Confirm your arrival details
  4. Enter the arrival Hobbs reading
  5. Report any defects if needed
  6. Review and tap Register arrival

Step 7 — Check your finance

  2. Review your balance and the latest transaction
  3. Top up your balance if needed for future flights

Good practice

  • Allow location access — many features depend on knowing your position
  • Log departures right before takeoff and arrivals right after landing
  • Keep your licences and profile up to date
  • Cancel bookings you no longer need to free up resources for others
  • Top up your balance before busy flying days
