The aircraft list is the entry point of the Fleet module. Every aircraft in your organization appears here, and all aircraft-specific work starts by selecting an aircraft from this list.
Opening the aircraft list
- Open Fleet from the main navigation.
- The aircraft list loads automatically. Each row represents one aircraft.
Searching and filtering
The list provides two ways to narrow down what you see:
- Free-text search -- type in the search field to filter across registration, aircraft type, aircraft name, and manufacturer. This is the fastest way to locate a specific aircraft.
- A/C Type filter -- use this dropdown to show only aircraft of a particular type. This is useful when your fleet contains multiple aircraft types and you want to focus on one category.
Both filters can be used together. The list updates immediately as you type or change the filter selection.
Grid columns
Each row in the aircraft list shows the following information:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Registration | The official aircraft registration (e.g., PH-ABC) |
| ICAO type | The ICAO type designator for the aircraft |
| Manufacturer | The aircraft manufacturer |
| Model | The specific model designation |
| Airworthiness | A label indicating the current airworthiness status of the aircraft |
| Current Hobbs | The most recent Hobbs meter reading. The format (decimal or hours:minutes) follows the aircraft configuration |
| Next maintenance | The Hobbs value at which the next maintenance is due |
Visual indicators
The aircraft list uses several visual cues to help you spot important information at a glance:
| Indicator | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Star icon | Aircraft is configured as a rental aircraft, available for booking through the rental system |
| Share icon | Insourced aircraft -- belongs to another operator but is available in your scheduling context |
| Warning styling on Current Hobbs | The current Hobbs reading is approaching or has passed the next maintenance threshold |
| Warning styling on Next maintenance | The maintenance threshold is close to or has been exceeded |
Tip
These indicators give you an immediate operational picture without needing to open each aircraft individually. Scan for warning styling regularly to catch upcoming maintenance needs early.
Adding a new aircraft
- Locate the Add aircraft option in the Fleet subnavigation.
- Click it to open the new aircraft form.
- Fill in the required aircraft details.
- Save the new record.
Important
Once saved, open the aircraft and start with the Configuration tab to set the Hobbs meter format and other foundational settings before entering any operational data.
Opening an aircraft detail
Click any aircraft row to open its detail view. The detail view is organized as a set of tabs:
| Tab | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Flightlog | Complete flight history for the aircraft. See Flight log. |
| Defects | Reported technical issues and the maintenance workflow. See Defects. |
| Maintenance | The next maintenance threshold. See Maintenance. |
| Schedule block | Time-based blocks that prevent scheduling. See Schedule blocks. |
| Documents | Uploaded documents with revision and validity tracking. See Documents. |
| Configuration | Aircraft identity, Hobbs settings, and operational toggles. See Configuration. |
| Rental | Rental availability, pricing, and subscription rules. See Rental. |
| Owners | Linked relations and calendar context. See Owners. |
Saving changes in the detail view
When you modify fields in the aircraft detail view, the Save button becomes active. Click it to persist your changes.
Note
Some fields, such as toggles and certain dropdown selections, submit immediately when changed. Always verify the record state after modifying critical settings.
Common tasks
Find an aircraft quickly Type part of the registration or manufacturer name in the free-text search field. The list filters as you type.
Check which aircraft need maintenance attention Scan the aircraft list for rows where the Current Hobbs or Next maintenance columns show warning styling. Open those aircraft to review their Maintenance tab.
Identify rental aircraft Look for the star icon next to the registration. Alternatively, you can open any aircraft and check its Rental tab to see whether rental is enabled.
Review the fleet by aircraft type Use the A/C Type filter to show only a specific type. This is helpful for type-specific operational reviews or when planning maintenance across a group of similar aircraft.
Good practices
- Keep aircraft identity fields (registration, ICAO type, manufacturer, model) accurate and consistent. These fields power the search and filter features.
- Check the aircraft list regularly for Hobbs and maintenance warnings. Responding to warnings promptly helps maintain operational safety.
- When adding a new aircraft, complete the Configuration tab immediately. The Hobbs format setting affects data entry across all other tabs.
- Use the A/C Type filter during fleet reviews to focus on one aircraft type at a time.
