Aeromail

Create bulk communications, target the right audiences, send previews, and monitor delivery results.

Aeromail is the platform's module for targeted bulk communication. It lets you compose professional messages, select precisely who should receive them, attach supporting files, preview before sending, and review delivery results after the fact.

Who this module is for

Aeromail is available to administrators. It is designed for people who need to send communications to groups of relations -- whether that means all active pilots, a specific department, or a hand-picked list of individuals.

How Aeromail works

The entire mailing workflow takes place within a single mailing record. From the moment you create a new mailing to the point where you review delivery statistics, you work within one consolidated view. The workflow follows these stages:

  1. Content -- write your subject line, compose the message body, and attach any supporting files.
  2. Audience -- define who should receive the mailing by using subscriptions, labels, roles, or individual relation selection.
  3. Preview -- send a test version of the mailing to yourself or another address to verify formatting and content before distributing to the real audience.
  4. Send -- dispatch the mailing to all targeted recipients.
  5. Delivery review -- monitor delivery metrics including how many messages were sent, delivered, bounced, opened, and clicked.

Most of your work happens within steps one through three. Taking the time to get the content and audience right before sending avoids the need for corrections or follow-up mailings.

Sender configuration

Before using Aeromail, make sure your sender settings are configured. The sender name and address that appear on outgoing mailings are managed in Settings > Aeromail. Correct sender configuration helps ensure that your messages are recognised by recipients and are less likely to be flagged by spam filters.

Getting started

  1. Open Aeromail from the main navigation.
  2. You will see the mailing list, showing any existing mailings.
  3. Create a new mailing or open an existing draft to begin working.
  4. Follow the workflow: compose content, set the audience, preview, send, and review delivery.

Where to go next

The Aeromail documentation follows the main steps of the mailing workflow:

Good practice

  • Always preview a mailing before sending it to the real audience. A quick test send catches formatting issues and content mistakes.
  • Use precise audience targeting rather than sending to everyone by default. Relevant communication is more effective and reduces the risk of recipients ignoring future messages.
  • Keep your sender settings up to date in Settings > Aeromail. A recognisable sender name builds trust with recipients.
  • Review delivery results after important mailings. Bounced messages may indicate outdated contact information that needs updating in Relations.
  • Use clear, specific subject lines. Recipients decide whether to open a message based largely on the subject.
