Flightlogger

Control organisation-wide rules that affect how the flight logging flow can start.

Last updated 2026-03-28

The Flightlogger settings group controls organisation-wide rules that govern how the flight logging flow begins. Changes here have an immediate operational impact on pilots attempting to start flights.

How to access Flightlogger settings

  1. Open Settings from the main menu.
  2. Select the Flightlogger group.

Fields

Valid subscription required for rental aircraft flights

  • What it does: Determines whether a pilot must have a valid, active subscription before they can start a flight on a rental aircraft through the Pilot App.
  • Field type: Toggle (on/off).
  • How to change it: Switch the toggle to on to enforce the subscription requirement, or to off to allow flights without a valid subscription. Save your changes.
  • Operational impact: When set to on, any pilot who attempts to start a flight on a rental aircraft without a valid subscription will be blocked from doing so in the Pilot App. The pilot will need to obtain a valid subscription before they can proceed. When set to off, no subscription check is performed at flight start and any pilot can begin a flight on a rental aircraft regardless of subscription status. This change takes effect immediately.

Common tasks

Enforcing subscriptions for rental aircraft flights

  1. Before enabling this setting, ensure that all pilots who should be able to fly have been assigned valid subscriptions. You can manage subscriptions in the Relations module.
  2. Open Settings and select the Flightlogger group.
  3. Switch Valid subscription required for rental aircraft flights to on.
  4. Save your changes.
  5. Communicate the change to your pilots so they understand that a valid subscription is now required.

Temporarily disabling the subscription requirement

  1. Open Settings and select the Flightlogger group.
  2. Switch Valid subscription required for rental aircraft flights to off.
  3. Save your changes.
  4. All pilots can now start flights on rental aircraft without a subscription check.

Good practices

  • Before enabling the subscription requirement, audit your relations' subscription status to avoid unexpectedly blocking active pilots from flying. You can review subscription assignments in the Relations module.
  • Communicate changes in advance. If you switch this setting on without warning, pilots who arrive at the airfield without a valid subscription will be unable to start their flights.
  • Consider aligning this setting with your subscription type configuration in Subscriptions. Ensure that the subscription types you offer have appropriate durations so pilots can maintain continuous coverage.
  • If you run trial or introductory flying programmes, you may want to keep this setting off during those periods and enable it once pilots have formalised their subscriptions.
  • This setting applies specifically to rental aircraft. Flights on privately owned aircraft are not affected by this toggle.
